I've been working on getting my V70 running again. A bad radiator caused brown milkshake, overheating, then head warpage.
So I pulled the head and the radiator off, had the head shaved, replaced the head gasket, had a lot of trouble with the oil return pipe and o-ring, and now, getting the radiator back together I CANNOT FIGURE OUT WHERE THIS PLASTIC PIECE CAME FROM. It came off when I took the radiator off, and so I assume it comes from there, but the shape is so odd that no obvious place for it stands out.
Also, I torqued the radiator bolts down today and found that there was still front-to-back play (the radiator bolts acted as a pivot point). On my 940 there is a cross-member on top of the radiator, which prevents this type of movement. Maybe it has something to do with that?
I've been through VADIS diagrams for a few hours and through the Haynes manual, with no luck in identifying this piece.
I'll be impressed and in debt with gratitude if you are able to help me out.

Well that's pretty simple. Thank you! It does, I did not want to proceed without knowing where it belongs.

That part had me pretty thoroughly confused too! Had a good laugh at myself once I realized what it did.
