Best 'Bang for the Buck' OBD II Code Reader for my 97 850R? I see prices all over the map!

Do you have a smartphone? Lots of us use an app called torque paired to an elm 327 bluetooth adapter that plugs in to the obd port. Adapter can be found on ebay, app in the market or app store. For under $20, mine works great!!

Here's a bunch at amazon. The exact one I got isn't here anymore but it was a CHEAP one, under 30, and does the job. There is a good argument to be made for a good recording type reader to watch fuel trims, O2 fluctuations etc. But to read and clear codes, you don't need much.

Aside from the Volvo software, I use an Autel eu702. It does SRS, ABS, TCU and OBD codes for about $160ish.

Matty, does the Autel pull ABS codes that could tell one if a wheel sensor is acting up? Can it clear the SRS codes?

I ordered that Bluetooth ELM one from Amazon, and the Dongle...$13.00 for both, shipped, so my outlay is low if I don't like it.

I got my brother one of these: CReader 6 - Code Reader/Clearer with Colour Screen. There is US distributors as well.. though it was way cheaper from China (where it's originally based anyway). Worked with both his cars, but it's of course a bit of a gamble! There is a video on youtube and stuff (search CReader 6 on youtube).

Yes. That's mainly what I use mine for.
