Cruise Control not working

Cruise Control not working

So 3 years after doing a Auto to Manual (standard) tranny i am looking at getting the cruise control working again, it worked well before but after removing wire 3T from the relay it still doesnt work...?? anyone know its a 1998 V70 T5

vacuum lines all check out?

Yeah you must start by testing the vacuum lines, most common problem is the rubber elbow under the battery tray rots out. Or it could be the brake switch, etc.

There is a great troubleshooting guide in the Volvo manual, to systematically test each component. It is a 95 manual so you can't run the OBD1 tests, but otherwise will be totally accurate for your 98 (e.g. jumper tests for the relay and the pump), download it from here:

Once you unzip it see the file called cruise control system.pdf, it instructs the tests.

All fixed, thanks guys.

the brake switch wasnt working, took it apart and cleaned the contacts.
