Get an ratchet box end wrench and it will make those bolts easy.

Also, the Oetiker clamps are not reusable. Grab with pliers and twist them off.

I'm kinda small so I was able to reach under there from up top and use a 1/4" rachet after I broke it loose with the box end. I have pulled about 6 of them and had no need for PB or any other penitrant. Nor did I have any problems with the bracket bending.

Oil Separator Trap Box Coupler (Volvo PN 8653339) in the PCV replacement kit is a URO make. Any issue with this URO part. If so, I could get this one item from local volvo parts. Any thoughts?

I believe most people have problems with the lines, not so much the box.

Someone here had their URO box fall apart and spit oil everywhere.

Based on my experience with their $&@! Hoses, I'd say stay away.

Here is the photo.

The crankcase ventilation w/o turbo diagram shows it connects to the passenger side of separator box, then to the engine block.

Ohh, that thing.

Yeah, get an OEM one even for that. The rubber seal on mine was leaking when I went back in to do the PCV system "right" a year and a half later.

FWIW, the rubber lip faces the plastic canister.

I have gather the parts, including replacement hoses for IAC.
All volvo style clamps for this job. It introduces few new tools and techniques.

The PCV kit has three items that are not OEM, see photo.
two couplings, and gasket is not OEM,

The gasket maker is visible in photo, but the coupling has no name. Do I worry that I may have to do it again soon?

For clean up, i imagine IAC and throttle body may have build up of sorts, hence the Valvoline. The guy suggested brake parts cleaner for handling PCV mess, etc. Any comments?

What should I know about the coupling/elbow on the inlet manifold along the area close to thermostat housing. Will it need replacing?

Many thanks.

The vacuum line connecting to nipple on flame trap assembly needs elbow on each end to make the distance. It would take me another week to put it all together. Switching to all Volvo parts for correct fitting of components, eliminating guess and workaround. I will make the replacement part numbers available for the NA engine type after it is back running.

Cleaning IAC and throttle along the way. The two cans are high pressured, it dries in a blink.

Girls are back in school.

IAC was taken off and cleaned. I will post few pictures. It took an hour to clear the coffee color residue, now when I spary it drains cleaner. The reusable Volvo clamps are something.

Flame trap fitting at intake is unique to SN780076 style engine. It is one complete assembly with hose, vacuum line, couplings, and connector to inlet manifold on the other side, just below the thermostat housing.
Removed the accordian like hose to throttle assembly, and the plate is now clean and shiny. It also now drains cleaner when sprayed.

This was a preliminary for me before getting on to PCV tasks, here is what I will get when done:
- clean IAC with new hoses
- clean throttle plate
- complete PCV part replacement
- dipstick and oil filler cap with new gasket
- all Volvo parts
- oil and filter change
- continuing with standard Penzzoil 5W30
