PCV Replacment 01 V70 T5

Post by jlg »

I have an 01 v70 t5 with 330,000 kms. I determined that my PCV system is clogged. I purchased the kit from IPD and am preparing to do the job in a couple of weeks. I found instructions in the other section (older V70's and 850's) but I can't find anything in this area. Can someone point me to the best PCV replacement instructions for my car.

Thanks,

Rocky

Based on my experience with an 03 get yourself plenty of brake cleaner do you can clean out all the crud that's built up.
Start believe it or not at the pipe from the air cleaner to turbo remove it and clean before putting it back. Then turbo to intercooler. Now your ready to pull the inlet manifold and get to the oil trap and it's octopus like collection of inlets and outlets. Replace or clean everything . You want to do this once, get the sludge out and do it right

I've done this with ipd's kit. I used their diagram and kept comparing the new setup to where the old one was. You start by pulling the fan shroud then the intake manifold. The banjo bolt on the passenger side front bottom of the manifold is probably the single most tedious part coming off and going on. Be careful where the blade end of hose clamps end up, especially on the driver's side of the head where things get crowded and there are small gauge wires. The rest is remembering where stuff came off so you can put it back in the same place. As said by jlg, a couple cans of brake cleaner, even when installing a new kit, will come in helpful. Allow 6 hours including learning curve. You can do this. Good Luck!
