Sunroof stuck closed - Best way to service it?

I had not used my sunroof for a couple of months and went to use it last week but the front section is stuck. The glass will pivot up at the back to allow air flow, but it will not move down and retreat into the roof of the car to open the hole completely. Do these get stuck from lack of use? I figured I would ask for some advice before trying to un-stick it. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Might be a simple as spraying it with lubricant, but not sure. FYI, when it pivots up at the back it sounds totally normal. When I try to make it retreat it just sounds stuck. No grinding or odd noises.

Broken trim pieces I've found to get stuck in the track and trip the breaker. It does reset itself, but you have to clear the obstruction from the track.
I didn't bother replacing the inner trim after finding it a hinderance to its opperation.

That was my expierience. Yours may differ.
Addendum: Slide the shade panel back and forth while attempting the maneuvers, and you may find the blockage.

You can drop the motor, then try to slide it back manually to make sure it didn't jump a tooth or two. When you pull the light assembly, note that it has 2 small screws under the light lenses. Don't just jerk it down, it will break the light fixture.
