XC70 2002 ETM not covered by recall?

Post by oak9700 »

Just called the dealer and they claimed car not covered after looking up the VIN. Am experiencing all the symptoms of a failed ETM.
They will do a diagnostic ($120) and then quote me on what to do. Cleaning/replacement.

Would like advice from the board, should I push for a free replacement or am I out of luck? Thanks...

It is because your car doesn't have an ETM.
XC70 last used ETM in 2001.
Your XC70 has an electric throttle actuator with no computer functionality, it is a motor that moves the throttle blade and potentiometers to track throttle blade opening. It is made by Bosch.
