Does the ABS module network into the transmission?

I have a 2000 V70 R. I bought the car in March (My first Volvo!) I love this car! over the past month my ABS light and brake light kick on, usually in the afternoon, and after about 27 miles at highway speed. The usually as I have also read happen: Speedometer drops and the milage goes ----.-- . When I take the exit, I usually notice a lot of shakes and violent jolt until I turn the car off and restart.
Well yesterday driving at 70 mph, my dash lights start flickering, my ABS & Brake light kicked on, my car jolts, my headlights blew, and my car started shaking. I pulled over, and turned the car off. when I restarted and placed in in drive, its acted fine for about 10 seconds and the ABS & Brake light kicked on, and my transmission acted like it was in nutrual.
I do know last time my car jerked and my lights blew, my regulator on my Altenator was bad, (thanks to this forum) I had it replaced and saved alot of money. That was replaced about two months ago.
So is the ABS module networked into the tranny somehow and causing all these problems or do I have a bigger problem...I want this car, my girl wants a Honda..help me save my car.

It is. The trans gets it's speed signal from the abs module. No speed signal and it starts off in 3rd gear.

I know I'm late on this reply, but you were correct. I replaced the ABS module and its been a year with no problems. Thank you.
