240 Acceleration Stumble

Post by aisrael »

My 93 244 has a stumble on acelleration off idle only when the car is driven for at least 30 minutes on a warm day (over 80°F). If I let the car cool down for a few minutes with the hood open, the engine runs normally. There is suffiecient coolant and the temp gauge is in the middle.
The check engine light is not on and I will check the DTC tommorow night when.

Can this be the ETC sensor starting to not work?

I performed the DTC and the code 214 is active (speed signal issue). Can this be caused by the speed sensor?

Code 214 is the engine speed (RPM) sensor giving an intermittent signal.

The sensor is mounted in the top of the bell housing, down behind the engine. It is not unusual for the wiring to chafe and break the insulation causing problems.
