Acquired 2000 V40 1.9T

An ex-student of mine had to go back to Japan- long story short, his visa expired after not being able to land a job- post graduate work...so I'm keeping his V40 for him until he comes back in a few years (if he's lucky). If he doesn't come back, then the car is mine to keep. First things first, I noticed his Timing Belt was over-due. I spent today replacing it, tensioner, pulley/roller and water pump. In the process I noticed the very strange upper radiator hose leaking and it needed new headlight wipers. The strange hose is a molded piece that has the smaller hose from the over-flow tank plug into it. These hoses are expensive and I noticed on FCP that the better ones are made by Uro. I looked around and found the same one for quite a bit less on Amazon as well as the wiper blades. Just a head's up that Amazon does have good deals on some of the parts our cars need, but if you're looking for actual "Volvo Branded" parts, your best bet might still be tried and true euro parts dealers.

Anyway, I posted this to say, I may be in and out of this forum now that I have a car that is included in this section of the forum.
