245k miles

High side AC line leaks
Tranny + engine mounts weak
PVC check (less than 20k but smokes out dipstick)
After removing dipstick and oil cap the exhaust smoked for a while.
New tbelt but unsure if water pump done (asking his dad)
Rear wiper motor dead
Valve cover gasket weeping? Smoking badly from top of exhaust manifold. Normally this is an oil leak from the valve cover

Worried that its piston rings if still smoking.

You're considering buying it given all that?
Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.

Also -> Amazon link

What's the asking price? That's a lot of work. Are the body and interior in any kind of reasonable shape? At 219k, my drivers seat is wearing through- I can't imagine that one to be any better.
The 5 cylinder engine doesn't have a valve cover "gasket", rather just a bunch of RTV silicone that's near impossible to get right once you pull the upper cylinder head. It could be leaking from the top pcv hose or oil cap- the engine sits at a slant and the oil drips down on the exhaust at the back of the engine. I had that problem.
Are you looking at it as a daily driver or a parts car?

I think it's a no go

Daily driver. It is a manual though. Interior isn't great. Neither is exterior.

A manual is a good sell point- the rest of the car sounds like a dump though, assuming it's just an everyday V70 N/A with a stick. Now, if it were a T5.... ;)

If it was a T5M, it'd be a rare, fast junky Volvo :-D.

Y'know, I actually glanced over the T5M part of your title :P
Looking at the body/interior, not a bad car. Looking at the T5 and Manual Tranny? Awesome car.
Thanks for letting us know about it! Hopefully someone will save it.
