Yeah, sorry... I originally had it all written out and nothing went through so I reposted it and forgot to put T5M.
I dunno, what do you guys think? Sounds like it needs an engine rebuild to me if it's got a new PCV and is still blowing smoke

Man, I would try to get it for $1,500 (no more than $2,000) and save the thing. Run a CarFox on it first, it that is clean, you can get your money back out of it if you ever decide to sell. I DID notice the title and wish I could do it. I'd almost give up my left nut for it (It's not working anyway LMBO).

title is clean. he's the 2nd owner.
didn't see any flood or accident damage on the frame or inside.
I wish I had the time and money to invest in it, but I don't.
The paint is trash on the bumpers... flaky and like melting off a bit. There's rust repair done on the front fenders that looks like they put paint on with a brush...
the rear of the car looks like the dogs went at it. Center of the rear seat is dug out and the passenger side rear door card is gouged pretty bad.

Sounds like a good car for $1500-2k, IF it's a 2nd car, you have time/tools, and you want a fast manual.
Not good as a primary car, over $2k price, restorable Volvo, or if you aren't going to work on it.

It seems like it would be a good daily driver if you sorted the bad issues. Tan interiors can easily be found in the local pick-n-pulls-though most aren't in good shape, there's some diamonds in the rough to be had. I myself would probably swap a complete charcoal interior into this and drive it daily.
Paintwork isn't a massive concern for a car of that age- It looks like a good 10 footer.
Definitely not garage queen material, however. It's past that point.
Drive it or leave it.

my biggest concern is the smoke... if it's the piston rings, it's way beyond what I'm willing to work on
I'd do a compression test...pretty fast and cheap (buy the tester at Harbor Freight)do it dry, then put a tablespoon of oil in each cylinder and repeat. Throttle wide open, coil and fuel pump relay removed (or not). It'll tell you a lot. Expect rough cosmetics on a car with this many miles, but don't squander $$ trying to "fix-up" the paint or interior. It can be made useable and clean for free.
I suspect the owner is selling because hes just been told its just worn out...especially after just investing in new timing belt and struts $$$$..he would not have spent that money if he had not planned on keeping it.
Who knows, it might keep right on keepin'-on for another 20, 000 miles...or not...but not for $2500...If I drove it, listened to it, and liked it, I'd offer $1,000..but only because that sounds less offensive than $850.00.

When getting the price down, it's best to know what's wrong with it. If the compression test is weak or bad, you can likely get it for $850, just because it will need $3,500 worth of work on the motor. The seller already knows. I just helped a guy buy a S70 that was on CL for $2,000, got it for $400. Jumped it and drove it home. Tossed a new battery in it and have driven it for 2 weeks with NO problems.

Go with Cash. $1000.00 max. Smoke could be the turbo seals no? $850 might get it. Remove the tube at the turbo and see if the turbo shaft has play. Turbo rebuild isn't bad. Run the compression test before you get it OR if impossible, stick to $850 or even $750.00 and take a chance. As was mentioned, interiors are easy to come by. This kind of car can be a lot of fun to play with especially if you have a garage to work in for the winter. I know a place in RI that might be able to help source a good motor or even re-build yours.
