P0500 and flashing arrow

Post by Beiner »

So I got my Autel MS5609 reader and I could finally read why I got a flashing arrow.

I've got P0500 which is vehicle speed sensor fault. I have no ABS or TRACS light. When I look at the live data, I get an accurate speed under the vehicle speed sensor reading when I compare it to the speedo on the dash.

My question is, where does the mph reading come from if the computer can read it yet it's tripping a code?

The speed is actually read by the ABS unit by counting pulses on the front wheel sensors. What type of vehicle is this?

Looks more like the beginnings of an intermittent ABS module failure by means of cracked solder joints on the module board. There's a write-up on how to do it on this forum or contact user Matty Moo who runs Midwest ABS and he'll get you sorted out.
