1999 C70 2.5 turbo Xemodex ETM problem
So I just replaced the yellow sticker ETM, with a Xemodex pre-programmed unit. Before the car was hunting at idle, and stalling while driving (usually under deceleration), no trouble codes or idiot lights except ETS after stalling. Now that the new unit is in the car is running, well more like a constant stumble, very rough. The engine is surging to 1500 rpm several times before settling in at a 900 rpm engine quaking, neck jerking, sure it's gonna break the engine mounts idle. I'm fairly sure this not a good sign. I cleaned the mounting surface before install, triple checked to make sure all wires where reconnected and inspected the inter-cooler hoses before re-install. I won't be able to get any tech support from Xemodex until Monday, Any ideas?

Knock on wood I haven't yet had any trouble with my yellow sticker ETM. I am going to forward this to the ETM room but it will remain here for a couple of weeks so that you can get maximum coverage.

It seems that many of my issues w/ my Volvos come in pairs...sometimes completely unrelated. You assume it's your new throttle body but it's possible something else is amiss. Your symptoms sound like a possible air leak (maybe you knocked something loose- like a vacuum line?), or even the MAF sensor. For kicks, unplug your MAF and see if things settle down and check all the little vacuum lines.

Check fuse #2 (second 15A fuse from the left) and engine management relay 9494448 (blue relay) in the engine compartment.

Problem fixed, thanks for the replies, I misaligned the throttle gasket. I'm feeling pretty stupid now, going to have a beer and see what I can screw up next.
