Looking at a used 2000 S80 2.9 with 122k miles. Actually in nice shape timing belt done at 105k as well as water pump. Auto shifts smooth, engine looks clean for being this old.
2000 S80
Only issue I see/hear is test driving it when I hit a bump with the right front suspension it makes a rattle/bouncy clunk-clunk sound. On flat road, under acceleration or during braking...no noise or grinding.
Any one hazard a guess at what it might be? (My uneducated guess would be a wonky strut or shock)
Assuming I am right, what will this cost to repair?

The weakest link in the front suspension from that era of car is the spring seats where a solid metal bushing fused together with the rubber surrounding actually tear apart. IPD heavy duty or OEM from dealer at around $45 for each side. Don't bother with $25 generics; they'll tear apart within a short time.
Check ball joints and sway bar links; also likely culprits
