Does 850 key have electronics inside?

I am going to have a duplicate key cut..does my 1997 850R key have anything inside the black plastic part, or can I just have a plain metal one cut?

The 850 has no such inside the keys.

Nope. Just a key. Where are you going to get it cut at?
