OK - searched the forums and looked at my setup. 98 V70R. Front wipers and washer work fine. Rear wiper works fine but no washer function. Mine has a single pump. Pump does not run at all when I press the rear washer button. Could this be anything other than the switch? If it is the switch - has anyone had success taking it apart and cleaning it? Was trying to avoid replacing the whole stalk unless necessary
Thanks

Does the wiper start when you push the washer button? If not then the stalk switch or the wiring from it is the problem. Here is a copy of the schematics for the rear washer.

Are you sure that yours is a single pump system? According to Haynes there are separate pumps for the rear and front windshields. I am not in front of my 99 right now, but I seem to remember that it has two washer pumps.

My 96 wagon had a separate rear pump located in the tailgate section. I don't remember offhand if it was under the floor or in the upper passenger side corner.

OK - thanks for the updates. Pretty sure the wiper works when I push the button but I'll confirm.
When I said it was a single pump - that was based on looking at the reservoir in the front. I did pull the panel on the passenger side in the tailgate area and see what appears to be a valve (check valve I assume) and the tubing, but did not see a pump. Would it be under the car by chance. I may have just overlooked it.
Thanks

No, it is not at the back of the car. According to the drawing that I am looking at, both pumps are located at/in the reservoir.
It seems as if the pump for the front windshield mounts through the bottom of the reservoir, while the pump for the rear windshield is mounted to or in the front of the reservoir.
