Need to top off coolant in my 2002 S60 T5. What type of coolant is used? (Looks like Dex-Cool, red-ish color) Thanks!

Volvo uses a Blue colored HOAT antifreeze with silicates.

If it is DEx-cool or similar then it is an OAT. Please never mix a HOAT and an OAT coolant.

The aftermarket acceptable coolant is Zerex G-05 as it is a HOAT. Do not mix it with an OAT.

If you have a turbo car (and you drive it briskly) then replacing all the coolant with a proper HOAT is more than worthwhile in my opinion as it better handles the localized boiling and issues it creates.
