Can I get better than 18 mpg from my 2009 XC70?

So, I guess I thought I would get better mpg out of my 2009 xc70 3.2 AWD. Now, combo highway and town 18mpg. How should I drive to get better mpg? Or is this the best I can expect?

Very little info to go on. If you drive 90% hiway and you live in Oklahoma City I would say you should do better.
If you live in Oakland and work in downtown San Francisco and commute at rush hour times then maybe that is pretty good.

I own a 98 V70 AWD and the car gets 18 MPG in around town driving, 25 on the highway. Afraid most Volvo's are high mpg vehicles.

So, this is not something I can CHANGE to improve mpg, it's only a # (process) that, if dysfunctinal, can effect mpg. If the car is not throwing codes (which it isn't), then nothing can be done (besides selling the car!!!).jblackburn wrote:http://www.obd-codes.com/faq/fuel-trims.php
