It is funny that we talked about anything and everything: changing spark plugs, thermostat etc. etc.

This fellow chronicled his story and believe it or not, he did a fantastic job detailing everything he did to rebuild his 850.
This is a good bedtime reading, I wonder if he is a member in this forum:

PS: If you are a newbie, all you need to read is that blog seriously...!

Yes, I am a member of this forum and I get a lot (maybe most) of my info from MVS!
Thanks for the mention; I hope others find it useful. I have been making the blog more informative over time. It started as a way for me to share this info with my kids so they appreciate how much cost and effort goes into keeping an older car running.
The newest model 850 is now 15 years old so there is plenty to work on. Not sure I will ever really finish the task...

More to come, too-- timing belt this weekend and hopefully more. If people are interested they can click on a link to get email updates as I post new topics.

I would be happy for you to link my blog on any other site that involves Volvos or general car repair. I hope it is useful even in Scandinavia.

Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.

Jim-- It's a great blog-- I like the detailed technical info and also appreciate the general overview and perspective you offer before getting into the particular repair. I subscribed to it so I get notified by email whenever you post something new. Thanks!

Matt, it is an awesome material. Would you consider it listed under Links to MAJOR Repairs, in 850 section of Volvo Forums?
