Very glad you are OK...
I got hit by a girl talking on the phone almost exactly same spot on the driver side two years ago, and still remember that kind of "hazed for a few seconds" state. Worse, I passed out the minute I got out of the car ( I think that kind of impact drives my central nerve system into state of shock for a few minutes).
Take care and best wishes!

Would this be a line in an episode of "Leave it to Beaver".

Our prayers are with you cn90.
How about moving to 2005-2007 XC70.
There is a purpose in loss.

Affectionately.
I know exactly how it feels for a great car to be totalled. I lost my 1998 S70 T5 this year to a sideswipe from a truck.xHeart may be right, I moved to an '06 XC70 and it is every bit as enjoyable in different ways as my sedan was.

Aw man I know you did everything by the book and did it well to boot. It's the same color as my 2000 V70 daily driver; nice shade of blue

Any chance of a resurrection; is the chassis rail bent?

Pulling out from a stop sign into traffic taking a left would make you at fault in Mass. Unless other vehicle had a stop sign as well and blew through it. Then it's gets interesting.
Hope nobody got hurt.

So sorry this happened to you  But glad you're ok!

If it was mine, I would try to find another one, the best one out there. And then I would take my time and take every little bit off of it and store it all.

I was planning to give this car to my son for his use in high-school.
The problem is all in budget, HS kids IMHO should drive $3K car.
The 2005-06 models now runs for $12-$14K based on what I see.

I maybe looking at 97-98 models with "low mileage" (such as 70-80K), there are some of these 97-98 on cars.com or ebay, craigslist, but I have to be patient.

Oh good, you're not one of those parents that buys their 16-year-old kid a $35,000 3-series for their birthday. We had lots of those kids at my high school. I went to high school/college with a 20-year-old Honda with 200,000 miles on it.

I agree - keep your eye out for another Volvo, but don't let the mileage worry you too much. Anything under 150K would be worthy. In fact, the lower-mileage ones are likely to have had a rougher life in in-town/short-trip driving and may need even more work.

Considering you may only get $500 for your wrecked car, wouldn't it be worth keeping in a storage unit or something to use for spare parts to fix up your "new" Volvo once you decide on one? Any car you get is sure to need some work/donor parts.

Here's a 98 in your town, granted it's not a wagon.

I understand you may not have the time for an engine swap though, but if you wait the right will show up. I found our replacement wagon in KC, also not far from you, it took about 3 months of watching the ads.
