I wouldn't do it if I were you. I'm not sure if that will work in a Yazoo cluster. May be for a VDO cluster.

I have one that you can have for half that to see if it works. I also have an entire cluster that I can sell. A '95 VDO cluster.

Checked with Volvo and they seem to think that only the VDO clusters can accept the dash computer.

However they did confirm in the 850 no software update is required to the ECU as it is a self contained unit which is good news.

But the back of my Yazaki cluster has the same green connections as you find on the VDOs?

So now on the hunt for a different cluster with all the gubbins. Only shame will be that i'll loose my 291,000 miles on the clock.

You may be able to move your clock. The internal clock will be different but the face can show your HIGH MILES. Awesome.

Right it appears that you can't fit a trip computer to a Yazaki cluster. I checked with Volvo.

As a result I now had to fit a VDO cluster. So here is my next question can you fit a VDO cluster to a car that was installed with a Yazaki cluster?

Mine is a 850 2.5n/a 10v 1995 P Reg UK model.

On another forum someone has said that the VDO came in two specs depending on whether is was a post or pre MY95, but when i asked the volvo parts guy he was a bit stumped by this. The guy said is if it had a coin holder by the cig ligther. I'm assuming the thing that covers the OBD2 port. Mine does have a coin holder here.

There for how do i tell if mine is a MY95 post or pre and once i found that do i need to get a VDO cluster from a pre or post MY95?

Also will a trip computer from any VDO cluster work?
