Okay,
I've looked in several other posts, and am not sure i'm finding the right solution to this. So I'll explain. Every now and then (and I mean maybe once or twice a week) II'll be sitting at a stop light and then moving, or I'll go from reverse to drive, and the engagnment will not happen for a second or so, then suddenly will engage into gear very hard, jerking the car. Sometimes it's from park to drive, from reverse to drive, or even while in drive the whole time, but starting at a standstill and then moving. But it only happens as I push on the gas, and that is where the delay happens.
I've tried to look up help, and what I've seen is that to do a transmission drain and refill/update software. Is this the best course of action to take?
It's got 139,000 miles and has never had a tranny service.
Thanks.
2002 S60 Hard Shift Issues - Automatic
I have the same car but AWD,i had the same issues with my car from park to drive or park to reverse so reading through the forums their is a cheap fix to resolve this issue in some cases. My issue was resolved with engaging into drive but it still occassionaly still hesitates and "Clunks" while engaging in reverse. I went to my Volvo specialist and had a drain and fill done because our mileage is too high for a flush and got the B4 Servo cover installed with the trans computer updated and after a few miles i could tell a huge improvement in the transmision shifting and engagement from a complete stop,it still has it's quirks but it is better then it was before the service and cover install. Here is the link and info on this cheap fix.sklater wrote:Okay,

I have a 2002 V70 which I just bought used a couple of weeks ago. After freaking out about the transmission, it seems to be all fixed today with a fluid change (not flush) and a software update. Like having a brand new car. Total cost was $270. which I consider to be a bargain.
