99 V7o XC w/Bad Exhaust Smell and Poor MPG

Ok boys & girls, here's my situation:
Picked up a 99 V70 XC in Jan. 2012. Ran good. Only 101K on it.
15K later I have very rich smelling exhaust and 2 or 3 mpg decrease. Not much to speak of for noticeable smoke. Just a little on start up every once and a while. Check Engine light on and error codes P1132, P1171, PO140, PO136.
I think the last two are O2 sensors, which would make sense, but what are the 1st two?
I'm wondering MAF or injectors,???.......
Any advice would be appreciated.

look for a vacuum leak before buying a sensor

Anyone have tips on locating vacuum leaks and/or where the most common places are for this year/model?

Bad Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor is also a possibility, but less likely given the specific codes.

if I was really stumped, I'd do a smoke test. my mech. bought a nifty smoke machine, and would do it for not much $.
elbow behind alternator is one spot. any smoke out of your dipstick?

ECT was replaced a couple years ago according to maintenance records.

I replaced one that lasted about a week so, it can be bad.

Think I got it.
Checked over the vac lines, everything looked good. Checked fuel pressure. High 50s. Swapped MAF for the hell of it. According to maint. records, smoke test was done 1 1/2 year ago when the coolant temp sensor was changed, and all was well, but the notes said to keep an eye on the EVAP purge valve. Took this as a clue and swapped out the purge control valve and viola! No more o2 codes. I was almost ready to drop some $$ on o2 sensors....Exhaust smells ok. We'll see if MPG improves. Thanks to all for the tips on what to look for. Glad that mechanic left me the clue. wish I could buy him a beer.
