1999 Volvo v70 GLT - Performance Upgrade Options

How to go faster, stop quicker, and turn harder. Chips, exhaust, larger turbos, bigger/slotted/drilled rotors, high performance brake pads, manual boost controllers, performance shocks/struts/springs, airbox mods and more! Also discussion on HID and Xenon lights, aftermarket foglights and other exterior lighting.

1999 Volvo v70 GLT - Performance Upgrade Options

Post by JBHawaii »

Aloha,

I have a 1999 Volvo v70 GLT (2.4ltr LPT) 4speed auto, with 60k miles on it.

I am posting this to inquire about my possibilities for increasing horse power. My target HP is to either match or surpass 263hp which if I am not mistaken is what an v70R does stock. I am aware that I do have a LPT and my engine internals are not heavy duty like the v70R. Therefore, my options are somewhat limited without an engine rebuild.

So without rebuilding the engine.... can anyone give me some advise on what I can do to achieve my target goal?

Stage -> 0
First: I was looking into replacing my stock turbo (13g) with a (16t).
Second: I was looking to re-flash my ecu (Please advise on which company, and why?)
Third: Complete exhaust including downpipe (Please advise on which company, and why?)
Forth: FMIC with reverse intercooler piping. (Possibly IPD)
Fifth: you tell me...

Again my target is to achieve 263hp or higher without tearing down the engine.

Mahalo,
JBHAWAII
