Radio Wiring Harness

Post by asedwards »

My radio stopped working after my Heater core blew. So I purchased a new radio and was getting ready to purchase the wiring harness from Metra. However the back of my radio has has three plugs that look like VGA connections and the harness doesn't have this. I saw harnesses that had these types of connectors but the Volvo V70 1998 doesn't. Can anyone help me figure out how to hook my radio up. Thanks in Advance.

The Harness I am looking at:

The Metra harness plugs into your car, not the radio.
The radio will have it's own harness. Your job is to match
and connect all the loose wires between the two.
The wires are all color coded - It's easy.

Thanks BEJinFbk. I ordered the Metra kit and will update my progress once I have installed.

Ok so I installed it. I figured out that the radio had connections for an amplifier and since I wasn't installing am amp, I shouldn't have worried about it. However after installing my gauge lights no longer work, Any ideas? Again You guys are great, The expertise in these forums has be a great help keeping my 98 V70 rolling.

The Metra harness has an orange wire that your new
Pioneer doesn't appear to have a connection for.
Be sure that it's taped off and not connected to anything.
