If you need the tool, contact me. You'll go on a waiting list (if it's out) and be required to put down an escrow amount. If there is nobody on the list, you should expect the tool to arrive in a week or less. Otherwise, expect a longer wait.

Delta link bushing removal special tool (Volvo P/N 9995497) for sale. I want to make this similar to McKennaR's thread here. Since there were some difficulties, being that the loaner tool was stolen, the setup here will be a little different.

This will be more of a "tracking thread", to make sure those who are interested know who currently has the tool, and when they are finished using it. After using the tool, put it back up for sale in this thread (I recommend PM'ing me so I can list the current status on the OP). Please don't keep it - make it available to others. You really shouldn't need to use it more than once in a year.

I purchased the tool for $130 shipped. Just sold it to Xpletive for the same. When he sells it, the next person will pay the same. All in all, each user will only be "out" the shipping, just like it was with the previous thread (actually, cheaper, since it is only shipping it "one way" ).

If there is a better way to present the information I have here, let me know. I am not a phenomenal writer.

HERE is Lee's thread on Delta Link Removal. If anyone is interested in cataloging their use of the tool (with pictures) for the good of the forum, please do!

NOTES: It fits perfectly inside a USPS Medium Flat Rate box, with some packing paper or bubble wrap. Cost with delivery confirmation: $12.35.
Also - please send Paypal via the "Gift" option to avoid fees!

MTD, you have my blessing on this. If anyone wants to share their thoughts either publicly or via email just to me, please do. Like a proper democratic process, let's have a one week comment period starting now. If I don't hear anything pro or con to this idea, this will be the method/thread I'll promote here at MVS.

Do these tools break? Would Warranty work?
Should there be a small replacement fee set aside (e.g $10 amortization fee per use).

Shipped the pacakage to Xpletive this morning - will update when he gets it.

I don't know if I want to be responsible as the "Treasurer of the Tool Amortization Fund". If MVS has some sort of account we could Paypal (gift) $5 or $10 to each time the tool is used, then we could do that.

Seeing as it is an OEM dealer tool, I would expect it to last for a good while. Volvo wouldn't send a "5-time use" tool to dealers around the country (or would they...)

I'll manage the Delta Link Tracking/escrow program. Is this a good way to handle things?

• Temporary User #2 signs up for the tool and PayPals me (tool cost) + (shipping cost)
• Temporary User #1 finishes, then sends it to TU#2 (USPS standard rate box?)
• I refund TU#1 (tool cost)
• TU#2 receives tool, checking in with me that he got it and it's operable
• Repeat

That sounds great. The cost of the tool was $118. See herefor the company I purchased it from.

Shipping was USPS Priority Mail, Medium Flate Rate box for $11.35. Extra couple quarters for Delivery Confirmation.

If you want to go ahead and edit the OP Matt, that might make it more clear to people who are interested.

Great, thanks Michael. I'll probably require a little bit more than the retail price, to eliminate (reduce) thoughts of "ah hell, I'll just keep it and sell it on eBay one day, instead of getting off my butt and mailing it to the next guy". Not that anyone here would deliberately screw something like this up, but I think we've all had times where our initial enthusiasm has been greater than our eventual enthusiasm.

Maybe $140 for the whole thing, then refund $125-ish on next-user arrival confirmation.

Canada users will be a special case for shipping. Anyone reading this have any idea how much shipping to and from Canada would be, everything else being equal?

I'll have a DLT tracking page with who's up, and who's on deck.

Also, if you're MVS membership is younger than 3 months or fewer than 5 posts, add $20 to initial deposit and refund.

Trying to think of everything here.
