I don't have a photo of my "setup" yet, but the idea is like the diagram below, get something and wedge it at that spot:

Yep, that's what I did. Shut it up for the most part.

Blech, the S70 just looks wrong with a tan interior.

A learning experience is one of those things that says, "You know that thing you just did? Don't do that."

yep, this is probably the oldest quick-fix trick in the book for this problem in an 850/x70, anyone who wants to just keep the car on the road then go for it, it is very tried and true.

How about a squeeky glove box noise? It seems to be the actual door lock that doesn't seem to be fully secured when it is shut in my S60. Is there a adjustment that can make the door shut more tight?

I put a couple felt stickers on my glove box. Like the ones for furniture feet.

Went to take a photo and discovered that the dash covered up my fancy little brackets but the car is so much quieter-now I have to solve the tailgate banging and clunking, or turn the stereo up

I am thinking another "ghetto" fix. Get some vacuum tubing (the same as windshield washer rubber tubing). Measure the length of the windshield from R to L.
Then tuck this vacuum tubing along the edge (where the windshield glass meets the dash) for its entire length from R to L.
The black color of the vacuum tubing should blend in nicely with the dash color.

The tube may work for some but my dash was so loose I could pull it back and forth about 1cm my other 850 had the cd changer in the glovebox and has a bracket behind the glovebox and a couple of hefty torx fasteners holding it in, I think in an accident the CD changer bracket may be one of the only things left undamaged, it is one serious chunk of kit to hold in a simple item
