2001 2.4L V70 Turbo Stalls When warmed up

Post by JosephVelder »

This thing was running excellent until about 3 days ago, when cold it starts and runs fine but when it warms up all hell breaks loose.
It started stalling at stop lights. When in gear I have to juggle between the break pedal and gas pedal to keep it from stalling, when in neutral the idle surges between 1,000 to 800 RPM.
What has recently (within three months) been done to the car;
1. Xemodex ETM installed
2. New Bosch MAF installed
3. fuel pressure tested at the rails, can't remember what it was but was remember that it was good.
4. Fuel filter changed out.
5. checked gas cap and it clicks on ok and tight.

The gang signs it is throwing up are these;

P0455 - Large evap system leak
P1633 - Faulty speed signal, (ABS?)
P1175 - Long term fuel trim lower unit?
P1238 - Turbo charger control system fault
P0171 - System too lean bank 1
P0121 - Throttle pedal position sensor

Could a bad O2 sensor be causing all these faults?

UPDATE, I just checked the vacuum hoses front and back, forwards and backwards and can't seem to find any leaks.
Next I'm borrowing my cigar-smoking buddy to come over and blow smoke into the vacuum system to see if any smoke leaks out somewhere...

I also unplugged the vacuum control valve and the car ran just as crappy as before.

Im thinking the coolant temp sensor may be the culprit. Just based on personal experience on my old 850 years ago. Temp sensor was reading cold even after engine warmed up, this made it run way to rich and stall. Also spuddered and ran rough. Worth looking into/ ruleing out. Hope this helps!

Having a very similar issue with a S80 Turbo I'm working on, did you ever figure out the issue?
