Trying to decide between USA Spec and iMIV iPod adapters

Post by davidhperry »

I have an HU613 head unit in both my 2002 S60 and 2004 V70. I'm wanting to connect my iPod/iPhone to the sound system, as well as control the device via the steering wheel controls. Does anyone have any thoughts about which one is better?

I installed this version and very happy with it. It is the only one I know of that has BOTH aux audio input and SD card reader/USB OR ipod player. http://www.bimmernav.com/url/volvomp3/

It is a very easy installation that uses the CD changer connector on the back of the radio, and works just like a CD changer would work

I tried a similar one to thr made by Yaltour. It works fine in the 850 but the XC70 version just doesn't work that well - the sound quality is quite variable and I do wonder if its triggered a change on levels with the head unit - eg. the headunit thinks that a changer comes with a sub or something like that.

Personally I would go with the USA Spec or iMiv, whichever one had the features I wanted. When I researched them they both seemed to be pretty professional setups.

Cheers,
Ben

Hello. I recently bought the usb2 from gromaudio and it works amazingly on my stock hu radio. It was support Bluetooth AUX android and of course icrap devices. It also allows for steering wheel control and android and stuff device. Best investment for car audio playback Volvo wise.
