1993 850 NA Air Intake Hose Interchange?

Help: I'm trying to get the right one. The air intake hose on my 1993 NA 850 (5-speed) is crumbling in the pleats on the bottom side. While shopping, I noticed that IPD has a warning about two different styles, which it says are not interchangeable. The problem is, the part number on mine (3507473) doesn't match either (9141228 and 9179300).

FCP Groton, on the other hand, just shows the 9141228 for my car.

The clocking of the PCV fitting is similar to the 9141228, roughly parallel to the elbow mouth. Is that the correct interchange?

You should cross to the 9141228 according to Volvo, that is what they show as the superseded part number for your 3507473.

If your problem is with the hose itself you can leave the base in place and just change the flexible hose. That is what I wound up doing on my '94 since it was easier. Unfortunately the hose itself is not available as its own unique part number.

I've patched the hose for now, and will order a replacement tonight.

For future searches, here's what led me to find this fault (hoping that there aren't more down this particular rabbit hole):

The Check Engine Light (CEL) came on. On A2, there was a 121 code, something about the mass air flow sensor being out of range or not present. I cleaned the MAF element and connectors with MAF cleaner, dried and reinstalled it, cleared codes, and went for a test run.
The CEL came on again, but this time the A2 code was 113 - Lean condition.
A quick online search found references to air leaks as a possible cause, specifically including aged air intake hoses. Easy enough to find - I could have stuck two or three fingers through a couple of the cracked pleats once I started feeling around.

The temporary fix was to clean the hose, use pieces of double-sided automotive tape inside the hose pleats to fill the gaps and hold the shape, then paint with Plasti Dip. I don't expect it to hold long, but it should work well enough to see if more CEL's show up.
