The 0280218108 MAF is designated for use in TURBO ETM cars. I doubt it will provide the correct output for your vehicle.

Woops for some reason I mixed up the threads I was answering.

I've been buying the 0280218108 MAF from eBay seller germanautosupply for $85 but for the time being they are out of stock.

The number 0280218045 is an interchange number

There's another guy selling them here: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/200731689502 ... 1423.l2649

Good evening,

Well… I ended up ordering 0280218088 at Amazon for $126. Based on the engine type, it should be the correct one. Of course it was more money than 0280218108 :-(. Still a bit confused about the one that is in it now, or 0280218045, and some of the cross reference information I have found. In any event, I hope I am on the right path.

I tried to send you a message, but I must have botched it since there is nothing in my “outbox.” Did you get anything? I am not very good at navigating this forum yet.

Thanks,
Emil

After stressing about supplying the wrong MAF to one of my '01 XC70 clients I looked up the MAF for all '01 turbos including 2.4T low pressure turbo and T5s and Vida comes up with 8670263 which is the 0280218108 .

I don't know why Bosch would list another part in their database under this model. Perhaps it is compatible and works better according to feedback. The 0280218088 is suited to the NON-ETM cars with part number 8670398

!!!!!!!!!!!!Edited by JDS60R - This is not the correct sensor see later posts - use 0280218108 for 01 V70 2.4T !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bosch is currently recommending
The 0280218088 for the 2.4T
The 0280218108 for the 2.3T

But it looks like both will work and the 088 is preferred.

My searches for your MAF with part stores show both as compatible. The 108 is less expensive. The direct search of your 045 comes up with the 108.

Bosch used them both for your car (2.4T American market) up to 07/01. You should call Bosch but most likely they are both fine. Bosch stopped using the 0280218108 in 07/2001 for your application. I also do not know why the 088 is the recommended sensor by Bosch. Let us know what you find out. It looks like they used the 108 from 03/00 to 09/00 but now recommend the 088 for all of them. But if Bosch makes it then I would go with Bosch's suggestion of the 088.

Here is the Bosch parts Matrix info for your car.

I will start a new post to alert the board but I just got off the phone with Bosch.

The 01 V70 2.4T takes the 0280218108 MAF . The "108" (last 3 numbers) is for the Bosch ME7 . The Bosch "088" is for the ME7.01 that came around in 2002 models.

The use of an 088 in the place of a 108 would eventually cause a fuel trim code.

They rarely see an error in their site but they state this is an error and they will correct it.

Evening

So now what do I do??? I ordered 0280218088 at Amazon for $126. Not sure what kind of return policy they have. Maybe Bosch should send me one since they messed up . Pretty much every part site you go to lists the 088 for this car so I wonder how many have ordered it and been putting the wrong one in.
Thanks,
Emil
