2001 S60 driver side ventilation

Post by marrieta611 »

Hi you all:
I own a 2001 S60 with 130,000 miles and during a week long trip away from home the driver side ventilation vents began discharging warm air out of the right vent and hot air out the left vents, which I had to close, with an outside temperature of 70oF
When I got home I changed the air switch from one position to another and the problem went away even after I put the switch back to the original position. I then took the car the Volvo dealer and was told that I needed a software update at a cost of $130 or the problem will return.
Has anybody had this problem before? If so, what was the fix?
Thanks for the help

I've not come across this before - but if the dealer is saying that a software 'upgrade' is required to fix the problem - then that's pretty much them admitting the original software was pants and they have created a fix.

I'd argue that it was obviously faulty out the factory, and they should be obliged to correct the fault foc.

Hi

Something is wrong, because "software upgrade" have lower cost, as I know for exemple to do one upgrade to CCM node cost less than 1 Euro.
Also, I can tell you that you can ask dealer only calibrate all damper motors, using VIDA. That will solve your problem.
