So here is a question then, is it honestly worth it to keep on trying to fix this car? I'm already $650 into it and I (the owner) have yet to actually drive the car more than 10 feet yet have owned it for 2 weeks. I needed a daily car that was an automatic and thought this would be an easy fix and something fun to actually drive.

Can't check the pressure right now because now the car won't even start. Hoping it's just the battery.

update* So the head is shot, it was warped like a u. so new head is purchased and being installed and judging onn the appearance of the head bolts its not the first time the head has been off. also not the first time the old headbolts were used!

Shame but in the end worth it if it runs a long time . Is the head a rebuilt from a local machine shop ? At least you'll have new valve seals now too which is a good thing . Make sure the PCV system is gone over and done correctly . !

I myself replaced the entire pcv system, and thehead has been rebuilt. Those lifters are a pain to disassemble that's for sure. But in the end this car should last just about forever with its new timing belt, rebuilt head and new water pump.
