Vibration under moderate acceleration

This past weekend, I noticed a bit of strange behavior from my 99 V70 GLT. When pulling off from a side street onto the main road, if I increase the RPMs by accelerating to around 3000 RPMs, The transmission seems smooth but I sense some engine vibration and I can feel it in the steering wheel as it accelerates. This is repeatable every time. Could this be a motor mount issue or should I be thinking about something else?

My first guess would also be a motor mount.

Agreed, probably a mount. Does it vibrate at the same rpm in neutral?

Check the "front engine mount" it is the one below the crank pulley, accessible through the passenger side wheel well. Good chance it has collapsed and the engine is sitting on the subframe.
