Post by rdklxprs »

Need to replace the tilt handle lever. Have the new part, but need information on how to remove enough stuff to be able to install the handle.
Thanks
Rick

Thanks for the info. One more question, how do you remove sound proof panel?

It's quite easy...if you look up at the panel from the floor, you'll see 2 screws...just take them out and pull the panel straight down. Installation is a bit tricky...there are little ears on the ends of the panel- they fit into slots up in the foot well...once these are in place the panel goes in easily and you just retighten the screws. I'm not sure of your model, but some have a foot well light built into that panel, closest the door. If you want the panel completely out of the way, disconnect that connector to that light from behind once the panel is loose. Good luck and let us know how things go.

I tried to this fix last night. Unsucessful. I am wondering how to you remove the soundproof panel. I assume this is the only way to get to the 4 screws that will allow the steering column to pulled out in order to replace the tilt lever.

Any ideas. Trying to avoid paying dealership.
