Hey guys so here is the deal with my S80 T6
Its in Limp Mode,
with Check engine codes P0715 and P0756
These are some of the things i have done
I have changed Both solenoids
i have changed TCM
I have changed the Transmission oil
i have checked fuses
i have disconected abs harness
I have left car disconnected from battery for 24 hours (15 min should have been enough)
Here some other information -
When i use OBDII and erase P codes it comes back on INSTANTLY
does this mean its a wiring problem?
I have spent countless hours trying to figure out the problem i have also bought a ALLDATA packet for the volvo but surprise surprise no help there
S80 limp mode

Welcome aboard!
You probably know this - 0715 is an input speed sensor fault. It could be triggered by a hard fault in wiring, but the sensor itself may go bad as well.
Which two solenoids did you change?
How many miles on the car?
(No offence to anyone but the ALLDATA packet thing for Volvo is a joke. Get your money back!) This is the right place if you need real DATA.

Example of Precision: Measure with a Micrometer, mark it with Chalk, and then cut it with an Axe.

engine is strong tranny was rebuilt.
how can i test to see if it is the speed sensor ? im new to when it comes to the electrical aspect
Solenoid for shifting 1-2 and 3-4

The short answer to the sensor question is 'swap it with a known good one' (from a pull-a-part place).
The best approach for me would be to talk to the car with my VIDA DiCE. This will reveal any stored codes in addition to those visible to the generic scanner, and will allow you to perform certain tests (you can test the solenoids one by one for instance). If you don't feel like investing $150 in one of the chinese gadgets that some of us have, then you could find an indie with VIDA that will do the trick.
Do you know what went wrong with the TCM that you had to replace?

Replacing the transmission is not the answer to this, it Runs fine. ive read alot of posts a"bout how people just changed it. Im not taking the "easy" way out
ive read previous posts about this device,
Is this the device you speak of?

TCM was mentioned as a possible solution so i swapped it.

Sounds good. I can't see which VIDA version is on the DVD you are ordering but hope you will be getting a nice toy to save you a buck or two.
A trip to the admirable stealership to just have them tell you what the codes mean adds up to (at a minimum $90.00 + Tax + the cost of driving + the cost of your time)...
Next Step --> You've got about two weeks to obtain your VIDA School Master's Degree
- just review all the stuff posted here about hardware and OS requirements, install challenges and workaround tips and tricks - and you'll be fine!
I was asking earlier if you could recall why your TCM had to be replaced (Transmission Control Module that is) and if you noticed any kind of improvement with the new module.
Thanks

any advice on howw to get vida dice started would be great -

i would highly suggest to anyone lowering the transmission to disconnect the steering wheel rod ( lol lets just say mine got bent a lil to much)

Does VIDA see the DiCE (do LED indicators on DiCE come on; did the USB device drivers install correctly); if YES - try running the DiCE Self-test, if no - try removing and re-installing the device drivers before condemning it.it doesn't connect to the vehicle currently
You may try using a different USB port if your laptop has more than one

I actually hooked up with a 99 s80 yesterday. For the most part I never have any problem with Vida, but it didn't want to run.
Finally after trying every USB port on my laptop and restarting Vida numerous times I rebooted my Laptop and it started working. I've never had to do that before but I've found that I've had to restart Vida once a day if I'm using it.
Also, the S80 only had 11.25 volts in Position II not running. I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it or not.
