gear selector switch getting stuck, will not release.

Sometimes they just stick and it isn't anything more than that. A small shot of WD40 fixed mine.

thanks for all your help and advice on this topic. I'm sorry it took me so long to read the last couple of post but I found the best way to stop worrying so how much about every little thing wrong with my Volvo...about an even older BMW.
