93' 940 Regina ignition but Bosch starter. is that right?

Could this be the mystery behind my "rumble" at idle speed? Do I need have a Regina starter? stupid question, I know

No such thing if you don't know the answer. The starter should be Bosch. Another bit you may be looking at: the alternator will be either Bosch or Nippondenso.

Rex/Regina is the ignition and fuel injection system.

I just bought a car with a rumble (and it was a '36 Ford 'grin') and it was a water pump bearing. 95 940
