Now that I have my internet back after several moves over the past three years, here is an update on the 760 turbo wagon from hades. I finally found a fellow in the mountains of Virginia who is a transplant from Sweden. He used to work at the plant where these devilish cars were produced.
He told me of the wiring harnesses, all six of them, that were made with biodegrable coverings and that they would flake off and ground out on each other, thereby causing all my woes. I priced the harnesses from my local Volvo supplier and was informed that they were three thousand dollars each and would have to be made. The lead time on the production was six months. Naturally I passed up the option to buy and the poor girl was decomissioned. Good news is she lives on in the parts that I recycled in my three other wagons in my stable.

Thank you for the update. Shame about the car but this was a major fault on Volvos of that era.
