1999 V70XC transmission sound. Part II

Post by RockVegas »

Ok, so just to try something I drained and refilled the tranny, but I'm still having a few odd things happen.

1. The most troubling is there is a buzzing sound, not horrible and destructive sounding, but loud enough to tell me something is wrong. Think a tattoo machine but lower frequency. It's emitting from the area in with the red dots. Other weird thing is it dosent always make the sound. With a stone cold tranny it takes 30 seconds or so. Once it's making it if I slide into reverse it stops while it's moving into reverse, then picks back up. If I slide it into D, it makes it the entire time. But, slide it into R, it stops while it makes the transition. Oh, and it's not as noticeable in 2nd or 3rd. Overdrive, who knows.

2. When I turn right, it does ok. When I turn left it shudders the car.

3. I've got a definite air/fuel problem. Seems like it could be throttle body but I'm not even messing with that until I figure out what the sound is coming from the tranny.

Any thoughts what the tranny sound may be?
