What sensor was mounted here?

Lost my front center air guide yesterday. The two conductor wire left hanging under the car tells me a sensor was mounted there, but I can't find it on parts diagrams. What was mounted here?

I have insulated the conductors and ties it out of the way.

1996 960. Pointers much appreciated.

Welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.

The only sensor that comes to mind is the outside ambient temperature sensor. However, my book does say that sensor is mounted at the lower left front of the engine compartment. If it was that one the wires will be green/yellow and green/brown.
