This has been bugging me for quite some time now because no matter how I word the search, I can never seem to find an answer to this question, "HOW do you find what price any particular vehicle sold for when it was new?"
Beyond simple curiosity, I'd really like to know just how my state (Iowa) comes up with the registration fee for my vehicle which, being just 7 years old, is valued at 1% of the new cost (which is absolute bulls*#@t in my opinion).
I have a 2006 S40i with a standard transmission, must have been like a fleet vehicle because it doesn't have any extras (no moon/sun roof, no electric seats and a few other standard issue items). So does anyone know where the state might be getting this information, and where I might also find the same? Thanks in advance for any advice ;?D
How do you find the New price of an older model??
