2006 s80. Worth fixing??

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

Im back in a four day work rotation , so I still haven't been able to button the project up and take it on a good long test drive.
Plus I did the engine transplant at my old house "rental" where my tools are still setup. So I am not able to tinker on it in the evenings after work :(

The other day when I initially got it running I very quickly "before running home to watch the kids" checked the compression of cylinder one. It has 155psi "warm" I look forward to checking all 5 cylinders after a test drive.

I kinda wish the car was an ugly color or something, going to be hard to watch it drive away when I sell it...

Also, a engine swap like this would be a total different ball game by yourself.
I was lucky to have a friend to help the whole time:)

Well done that was a speedy process from blown to replacement.

That initial compression is a little low but as long as it's even across the cylinders it should be fine...perhaps some Seafoam to get those numbers up a little.

List it up on the forum sale area when it's done, you should get a buyer quickly.

Thanks!! I sprayed some sea foam "deep creep" in the cylinders when I first got the replacement engine home. I hope the compression increases after I put 100kilometres on the engine.
However, my 03 v70 with the same engine has 153 to 155 psi across the board and doesn't burn a drop of oil.
My compression tester is old and has been banged around a bit, I'm wondering if it is still accurate.

I actually have one fella who wants to test drive the car later in the week! I'll probably just list it or sale in Atlantic Canada if that falls thru tho.

Part of me wants to sell our 2007 Nissan Altima And keep this as our second car, it's a perfect match "same color" as our v70 ... Would look nice in the garage! However the Altima seems awfully reliable, might regret selling it...
