Re: PAG Oil

Post by Ozark Lee »

did it specify a weight for the PAG oil in the VADIS?
It depends on the compressor model number. Some call for PAG 46 and others call for PAG 100.

Here is a link to the chart.

Since I am going to have a mechanic recharge the system should I just tell them I have replaced the evaporator and accumulator and then they will replace the PAG oil or is that not standard?

As a general rule they will not automatically add the oil but I'm sure they can if you ask them to.

I need to add some PAG oil to my system, but cannot find any reference to the make or model on the compressor itself. The car is a 98 V70 GLT.

I looked at every part of the compressor I can see from above and below the car. The only info I can see are the numbers "0659" stamped in the compressor housing on the bottom, and the the number "15" with a circle around it cast into the housing on the side toward the front of the car. Where would the tag be that would specify the make and model? My local O'Reilly's carries both 46 and 100 weight PAG oil in the cans you can put in through the low pressure port. I just need to figure out which one to get.

I show that the compressor for all '98 models should be a DKS15CH which takes PAG 46.

Any idea for a Zexel 506491-2991?

Couldn't find any of the other numerals that are given on that chart.

That number doesn't cross to anything. Is the compressor from the '93 or did the one from the new engine get installed?

As you know the '93 models are their own animal.

He didn't post the key numbers. For anyone else wondering what numbers you need, see his other thread for a pic:

Its the 93. Dont think the AC compressor was crossed over. That is the only numbers I can see on the tag. No other identifiers.
