V70 Gear Shift Knob replacement

I just bought a used 2008 V70. The leather on the gear shift knob is pretty worn so I want to replace it. Does anyone know how to remove the knob? Most post I have seen on older V70's say you just have to put it in neutral and then pull up with LOTS of force.
