V50 2.0D - Performance problem

Post by petrusko »

Hi guys (and girls) - we are having heavy rain today in SLO :) What about you?
Ok - lets stop the polite talks and get to the problem

Description:
My V50 MY2008 started to lose some performance when driving above 2000 rpm.
No matter in which gear Im driving or speed, when Im at 2000 rpm, and step on the gas pedal the issue occurs. When stepping on pedal the engine should speed up linearly, but it speeds up a little bit, and then it stops for a 1/2 of second and then speeds up a little bit , and ... Its like sailing on the waves.

We have replaced the fuel filter (previous service was 5000km ago). And the problem continues.
With my mechanic we also checked the engine for errors, but there were no errors (he scanned it with usual OBD-II scanner).

What is strange If I set the Cruise control at 100 miles per h; then lower the speed to 60 mph and turn the Cruise control on (this means that Cruise control is to speed up to the 100 mph) no performance problem occurs. Maybe this is because the CC is adding the gas in more little steps.

So as Im always on the DIY, but always running out of time and $$$ (EUR), I ordered a DICE, installed the Vida on to my laptop - and connected to the vehicle.

But ... there are so many modules, and sensors and chips - I dont know what to inspect? Any Idea? Can someone help mi with that? Which sensors should I look?

Thanks,
P.

Ok - here we go;
After reading a lot, lot, lot of posts here and on other forums I decided to go after DPF issues.

I did monitor "ECM - Distance since last particulate trap regeneration" and "ECM - Pressure sensor particulate filter". I did get somehow strange results.
The first one is adding km at much more frequency as it supposed to.
But since the first one is not working - then I believe that the other sensor is probably broken also.

But I have two other questions:
In normal working car, where everything is ok. When the gas pedal is pressed (to the bottom - for 15 seconds) the rmp, speed and other values should rise accordingly. What about the pressure in DPF? I assume that pressure level should also rise accordingly.

As I'm looking my results when I press pedal to the bottom, the pressure in DPF rises, than falls down, and risess again and ...

The second question is how to clean DPF filter? What cleaning spray/fluid should I use? What about sensors? Will I damage the sensors with washing?

I've seen some reports that cleaning (washing with cleaning fluid and drying it with air) were successful and DPF is working normally after this.

I'll post a video with testing results. But I must edit it first :)

BR, P.
