So PAG 46 from an Auto Parts store should work? and if I read it correctly about 4oz of oil (replacing evap core and drier)?

Don't add the oil to the drier until you are ready to install. The oil will activate the desiccant on most units.

Drain the components you remove and replace that amount of oil...

A little extra won't really hurt.

I haven't looked closely at our compressors but most will have a drain port on them, might be worthwhile to remove the compressor and replace with new oil as well while you have the system apart.

Too Late haha, Did the repair this weekend. Was a pain in the butt, broke the stupid plastic heater core junction box and redid it with a 5/8" heater hose, which seems to hold. However there seems to be liquid under my car, specifically the dash and it made me think of the HVAC drain, however the AC is functional after 3 days and doesnt seem to be loosing r134a. There may be a slight loss of coolant. There does not seem to be a leak where I did the 5/8" hose connections and I dont know how coolant would leak below the dash without making the carpet wet.

Thoughts?

Noticed more today... Could this be condensation? Does the condensation leak out from that drain in the dash from HVAC?

I don't really understand what's leaking, or where.

When you say "plastic heater core junction box" are you talking about the heater hose coupler in the firewall, or some box under the dash?

There is a drain from the climate system jut in front of the gearshift console. It will be water only - it will not drain coolant leaking from the heater core
