Does an alternator or a V70XC driveshaft to rear axle have any core or other value? I replaced the alternator without a core. I removed the driveshaft because it had gone too long without maintenance and was causing some vibration. I'm not interested in spending $600 to replace the two U joints in the driveshaft, so now the car is front wheel drive only.

Junk 'em or what other suggestions are there?

Thanks!

There is definite value in the drive shaft core. I paid $100.00 for a bad one at the junk yard so that I can eventually send it off to Colorado to get it re-built. That was less that the core charge at Colorado Drive shafts.
