ETM repair for Australian/New Zealand customers

Post by precopster »

For those of you in Australia or New Zealand and looking for Magnetti Marelli ETM repair I've finally launched a website you can visit in addition to my eBay ad for ETM repairs.

It's a starting point but one I hope will expand with more services and products as the needs of local customers grow.

Hey Mike, just had a look at your site. I've got an issue (not related to ETM's) with my CEM on my V40. Intermittant wipers and rear window wiper not working. Traced the issue down to the relays so will need to be desoldered from the board and resoldered on, however I havent had much luck finding the required relays locally to suit a direct replacement. I was thinking along the lines of moding it to use a couple of readily available relays that are available at any autostore. Most likely outcome of this however will be the relays will have to be external to the CEM, so may require some creative wiring to do it. Have you ever had to do something like this or would you recommend spending the time to replace the relays with like for like? Just thinking long term it would be far easier for replacement if the relays are prone to failure.

Is there a photo of said relays with a clear focus on their part numbers you can post up on the board?

I may be able to source them with the aid of a visual.

Heres a link to another forum with some photos of the relays:

My numbers are slightly different to whats in those photos. I'll post up a pic of mine in the next couple of days (working N/S at the moment)

It may be a good idea to post up your photos as I haven't had any luck with the larger main beam relay. It looks like a National Semiconductor part. Let's see if yours is the same
